Halle Berry

A tremendously talented actress, finally got the recognition she deserved with Monster Ball. A lot of her films are just mindless entertainment, but that's not her fault. After all, a person has to work.

Halle Berry plays an investigative reporter who's friend is having an affair with Bruce Willis' character. The friend turns up dead - who done it?

Monster Ball(DVD)
(2002) She deserved her Oscar. Billy Bob Thornton proves once again that he's more than just a pretty face. (That's a joke, son.)

Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (DVD)
(1999) Dorothy Dandridge was the first African-American nominated for Best Actress. Ms. Berry does a great job portraying the frustrations of being black in America in the 50's, no matter how talented you were. HBO has had a lot of wonderful original films but this is one of their best.

Swordfish(DVD)
Swordfish(VHS)
(2001) Certainly not Travolta's greatest film, still many in post-911 America will identify somewhat with the Swordfish's anti-terrorist stance despite his lust for violence. Halle Berry wastes her considerable talents, basically picking up a check for bearing her boobies. Oh well, I'm sure she made more than she would have at the local strip joint.
