Morgan Freeman

Did you know that Mr. Freeman is the highest-grossing actor of all time?

Unforgiven
This incredible film is also noted under my alltime favorites, as you may have seen on the main page. Gene Hackman perfectly portrays a corrupt lawman, blatantly displaying abuse of power throughout the film. Retired gunslinger Eastwood picks up his revolvers again to seek justice for those who have no hope of justice - for a price. Morgan Freeman portrays his longtime pal, convinced to go along because he also needs the money. Even if you ignore the symbolism and metaphor - which many I know somehow manage to do - it is one great story. If you do not watch Westerns, but care about the general unfairness of life (do you like Les Miserables?), then try this one out.
Shawshank Redemption
Freeman's character befriends a man wrongly convicted of his wife's murder. A great movie, Oscar-worthy performances by most of teh cast
Glory
If not the best film about the Civil War, has to be close. Finally the contribution of black Americans is acknowledged in this fine drama. Based on a true story.
Seven
Morgan Freeman costars with Brad Pitt as they track a homicidal maniac in this gisly drama.
Amistad
Moving story of the trial of those who rebelled aboard a slave ship. Panned as too simplistic by some who forget the target audience: Americans.
Wanted
Nice Hong Kong shoot em up with Morgan Freeman, Angelian Jolie.
Million Dollar Baby
Should this have won Best Picture? A lot of people, including me, don't think so. But it is a great movie, not really a boxing movie but a movie that explores relationships. Eastwood, Freeman and Swank all give Oscar-quality performances. This film is definitely worth a watch and a must-have for the Eastwood or Freeman fan. The deluxe set includes the CD soundtrack.
The Bucket List
Freeman and Nicholson try to cross the things off their list of what they want to do before the final curtain.
