Who knew? Nicole Kidman and cast does a more than passable attempt to bring back the Hollywood musical. DVD is packed with extras for the fanatic.

To Die For (1995)
Watch this movie if you doubt her acting abilities. Great comedy with Matt Dillon.

Malice (1993)
One of my favorites, Hitchcock would love this femme fatale story. Alec Baldwin plays the dupe- well, one of them anyway. A sexy thriller that I feel is underrated. All star cast also includes Bill Pullman, Anne Bancroft, Gwyneth Paltrow, George C. Scott, Bebe Newirth, and Peter Gallagher.

Dead Calm (1989)
Thankfully, this movie got her out of Australia and into mainstream Hollywood. Another Hitchcockesque thriller in which her sexuality plays a critical role. Sam Neill plays her husband and Billy Zane - long before Titanic - is amazing as the psycho.

Dustin Hoffman gives his usual powerful performance in this New York mob story. Nicole is the girl the guys fight over.
